If I show to natives several sentences used with a variety of 'of's and they select an 'of'/ 'of's corresponding to the ' of' as in ".beloved of millions.", the selected 'of' The reason why I suggested a total of seven sample sentences is that I didn't get the feeling about the ' of' as in "the actor is beloved of millions of fans", so I thought I brought sentences with a variety of meanings 'of's below to make it easier for you to see which of the following corresponds to the 'of' I think I understand the meaning 'by', because it sounds to me the same as the 'by' in 'he was killed by the guy.' So I rewrote about it.Īn English expressions book says that 'of' and 'by' are interchangeable and I wondered what the nuance is when the preposition 'of' is used. I posted a thread about this question before, but I couldn't get an sure answer.
